Dr. Singh currently practices in an office only setting. He practices in a scientific as well as evidence-based manner with the goal of improving the patient’s quality of life.?He believes in mind-body interaction, meaning that the mind regulates the body and can help restore the functioning of the body as a whole. When evaluating patients, he takes a bio-psychosocial approach and prescribes the appropriate medication. He refers as well as collaborates with other psychotherapists in the community.
Over the years, he has been involved in teaching and supervising medical students and nurses. He has lectured extensively to his peers on disease states/treatment of depression, anxiety, chronic insomnia as well as bipolar disorder. He has been recognized as an outstanding teacher and his efforts have also led to educating the community through the Depressive Manic Depressive Association (DMDA) and National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). He continues to strive to eradicate the stigma of psychiatry by educating his patients and peers and is considered a thought leader in the community. In 2010, Dr. Singh was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) for his efforts to make a difference in the community. Dr. Singh is certified as a Psychopharmacologist by the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
He is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Psychiatric Association (APA), Florida Psychiatric Society (FPS) and is the past President of the Tampa Psychiatric Society. He has been recognized repeatedly as one of the top doctors in the U.S. in his field and continues to keep up with advances in the field of psychiatry. In addition, he has consulted for pharmaceutical and managed care companies.?Dr. Singh attributes his clinical success to listening and learning from his patients, ensuring that they come first.
